Personal OS

About the project

One place for a whole life

I used to track my life in ten places: notes, spreadsheets, separate apps for money, sleep and sport. Personal OS took the place of all of them. It runs on my own rules, with no subscriptions and no features I never touch.

A day takes seconds to log: energy, sleep, workout, spending, watered plants. After a few months the data starts showing something: trends, month-to-month comparisons, links between modules.

It is a progressive web app. It installs on the phone like any other, sends push notifications even when closed, keeps the data in the cloud and opens from anywhere.

Through the app

01

Trends

Every month is compared with the one before: sleep, habits, work, spending. Here, the 90-day sleep trend with average, minimum and maximum.

02

Consistency and correlations

A consistency heatmap over the last 6 months, plus links between modules: sleep hours and energy rise together (r = 0.65). Daily notes start saying something.

03

Money by category

Income and spending for the current month, split into my own categories, from loan payments and food to donations. Categories are freely editable.

04

Accounts and transactions

Expenses, income and transfers across separate accounts: bank, cash, savings, Revolut. Every transaction with a category, date and note.

05

History with filters

Every entry can be found again: calisthenics workouts with exercises, RPE and notes, filtered by category, subcategory and date range.

06

Household

Small modules for everyday life: plant watering and condition, wishlist, cars, routines. Everything that used to live in my head or on sticky notes.

The data stays mine

Push notifications with the app closed, automatic reminders and a full export: CSV per module or JSON with everything. The app is mine and so is the data.

Under the hood

Built simple, so I can keep it alone

A PWA hosted on Vercel, with Supabase for data and authentication. No heavy frameworks and no dependencies to look after, so I can maintain it on my own for years.

Try it yourself

A demo instance, with test data

The app is mine and I use it daily, so the data inside it is personal. I set aside a separate copy, filled with generated data, that you can log into and walk through all ten modules.

How to install it

Three free accounts: GitHub, Supabase, Vercel. You pay nothing. Set aside 30 minutes and stay at the computer, because Claude does the work but asks you for the accounts and keys one at a time.

Three steps

  1. Download the archive below and unpack it into a folder.
  2. Open Claude Code inside the unpacked folder.
  3. Give it the prompt next to this.

The prompt

Read SETUP-AGENT.md in this folder. If I do not already have Personal OS installed on this machine, install it from scratch, step by step, and stop to ask me whenever you need an account or a key from me. If I already have an installation, switch to UPGRADE-AGENT.md and bring over only what is new, without losing my data. At the end, tell me briefly what you did and what is left for me to do.
  • The archive also holds guides written in plain language, for a person to read.
  • Later on, if you want to track something else, type /personalos in Claude Code and say what you want.
